We’ve been seeing images of what are claimed to be the two new iPhone 6 models for a while now, and some have even cropped up in videos. What has been severely lacking though, until now, is a video comparing both the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 to existing devices made by other manufacturers. YouTube channel TechSmartt has now changed that by publishing a seven-minute video in which we see the unannounced iPhones compared to other iOS products as well as, most interestingly, a Galaxy Note 3.
While these iPhone 6 handsets are just manufacturing dummies, the rumors do point to them being the real deal, so even though we’d suggest a healthy dose of salt is taken here, there’s plenty to see that makes plenty of sense. Just remember, none of this is official.
So, that out of the way, what really makes this video interesting is the comparison of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 with Samsung’s own giant Galaxy Note 3. Samsung’s offering packs a larger screen at 5.7-inches, but most interestingly, the iPhone 6 appears to be larger thanks to the area above and below the screen being chunkier than Samsung’s offering. As we’ve said though, it’s entirely possible that such dimensions will change before we see the iPhone 6 in Tim Cook’s hand, but it’s an interesting sight regardless.
The video also gives us a good look at just how large that 5.5-inch iPhone 6 is when compared to existing Apple products. In fact, the TechSmartt video suggests that the phone might actually be too big for most people. especially given the lack of a stylus – something Samsung ships as part of the Galaxy Note package.
The smart money is on the iPhone 6 being announced around September time, with the larger of the two models perhaps coming some time later. Looking at the leaks as they are, we’re fairly sure we know which model we’ll be buying, mainly because we don’t have hands the size of a giant. If you’ve always lusted after the Galaxy Note and wished it ran iOS though, it doesn’t look like you’ll be disappointed with what the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 has to offer.
