2026 Foldable iPhone Is Likely To Eliminate The Display Crease For Good

Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone is getting closer to reality, and a new report suggests the company has solved one of the biggest issues with foldable phones—the screen crease.

According to ETNews, Apple is finalizing its suppliers for the device and expects to complete the selection process by April.

If everything stays on schedule, large-scale production of components could begin later this year, bringing Apple’s foldable phone one step closer to launch.

An industry insider told ETNews that Apple is determined to eliminate the crease at all costs, even if it means higher production costs. It appears that Apple has developed a new material that helps make the crease disappear, something Samsung, Huawei, and others have struggled with.

Reports indicate that Samsung Display will supply the OLED panels, having worked on this project with Apple since last year. The phone will likely feature an inward-folding design (similar to a book), with Corning providing ultra-thin glass and Amphenol handling the hinge mechanism.

Apple’s foldable iPhone is expected to arrive in late 2026, aligning with previous leaks from Mark Gurman, Ming-Chi Kuo, and Jeff Pu. Bloomberg recently confirmed that Apple is now focused on finalizing development, so an official announcement might not be too far away.
