If you’re holding off buying a new tablet until Apple’s updated iPad Pro and iPad Air ship, you might not have to wait too much longer.
That’s if a new report citing a couple of Chinese sources turns out to be accurate.
The MacRumors report refers to a post on Weibo by leaker Instant Digital as well as a report by the Chinese website IT Home that both appear to be linked and say the same thing — the new iPads could arrive as soon as March 26 based on new cases that have cropped up on Amazon.
According to the reports, Amazon currently has multiple 2024 iPad Air and iPad Pro cases listed with an availability date of March 26, suggesting that will be when Apple will officially unveil the new tablets. However, Apple is yet to officially confirm anything.
The new OLED iPad Pros will of course sport new displays as well as the Apple M3 chip and come in both 11-inch and 12.9-inch configurations. The new iPad Air will reportedly sport an M2 chip while the 11-inch model will be joined by an all-new 12.9-inch variant.
There is no suggestion that there will be any big design changes here, while the only tweak is the potential for a new placement for the FaceTime camera. It’s been suggested the camera could move from the top of the iPad to the side — a better option for those who use their iPad in landscape mode when connected to a keyboard and trackpad.
