Bloomberg recently shared all kinds of iOS 13 details and now Mark Gurman and Debby Wu have turned their attentions to hardware. The pair have penned a new report claiming that we can expect a few interesting things to arrive alongside the new 2019 iPhones, including reverse wireless charging.
The full piece is well worth a read and some of the points raised add further credence to rumors that have been floating around for weeks. The additional reporting by Bloomberg adds strength to those rumors however.

Some of the most interesting notes include the fact that the 2019 iPhones will largely look identical to the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max that arrived last year with the addition of the new, squared camera bump around the back. However, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will be around 0.5mm thicker than their year-old counterparts.
All three phones are said to also feature reverse wireless charging, allowing iPhone owners to charge their AirPods using just their iPhone. That’s a feature that some Android flagship phones have added in recent months, including the Galaxy S10 that new iPhones will be pitted against.
Just as expected, the 2019 iPhones will make use of new A13 chips that will be made by Apple’s manufacturing partner, TSMC, with mass production expected to start as soon as this month.
Check the full Bloomberg piece out for all the bits and pieces, but we’re particularly keen to see reverse wireless charging being added this year. That alone makes the purchase of AirPods with their own wireless charging case a worthy investment.
Apple is expected to announce the new iPhones this September, with shipping taking place shortly after.
