The Samsung T5 Portable SSD is usually good for a deal or two, so it was always going to rear its head during Amazon’s Black Friday shenanigans. And of course, here we are with the 1TB version of the SSD now available for just $137.99.
If you don’t mind paying an extra couple of dollars you can choose to go for the red or gold version, too. Because of course you can.
The Samsung T5 is one of the most popular portable SSD options around and there are plenty of reasons why that is the case. The main one is the fact that it’s super fast at around 540MB/s. It’s also built from metal and is way smaller than you might expect. For those reasons plenty of people who work out and about like to use these things for storage. Photographers and videographers in particular seem to be huge fans of Samsung’s T5.
The drive comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable for those with modern computers, but if you need to use USB-A there’s another one of those cables in the box too. Samsung offers a 3-year warranty with each of its T5 models and if you plan on saving important documents to it the drive also offers password protection, too.
We’ve been using this particular portable SSD for around a year and have had zero issues. It just sits there, doing its job. And really, that’s all you want from a portable SSD isn’t it?
