If you’re trying to find some decent apps, the chances are you’re looking for both quality and value. Many apps out there are available for free, but by and large, the very best ones are paid, and so almost by default, those that temporarily ditch their price tag are often worth considering. Here, we run through a list of some of our favorite apps gone free for free on iOS, and if you like a freebie, be sure to join us after the leap.
PDF Expert ($9.99 – FREE / iPhone)
This app, which will ordinarily set you back $9.99, is now completely free of charge. Perfect for reading, annotating and generally managing your PDF documents on-the-fly. Please note, however, that this price drop appears only to be applicable to those in North America.

DashCam ($1.99 – FREE / iPhone)
Again fairly self-explanatory, this app will record as you drive, cycle or even boat-ride your way around, and with tracking on location, speed, and other such info, does exactly as it purports. Usual cost is $1.99.

Thinglist ($1.99 – FREE / iPhone)
Yet another to-do list; but a good one with a very neat user interface to boot. Usually costs $1.99.

Pocket Numerologist ($9.99 – FREE / iPhone)
If you’re into your tarot cards, astrology or anything of the sort, you’ll love Pocket Numerologist, and given that this highly-rated app is now free (usually $9.99), there’s even more reason to love it.

Work Time and Work time HD ($2.99 – FREE / iPhone and iPad)
This app offers clock, calendar, weather and scheduler, and would usually cost $2.99 for iPhone and the same for iPad. Luckily, though, they’re currently free, so snap them up while you can.

djay 2 for iPhone ($1.99 – FREE / iPhone)
As covered earlier, this is a must-have for any wannabe DJ. Usually $1.99.

Recordium Pro ($4.99 – FREE / iPhone and iPad)
This neat little voice recorder costs $4.99 on most days, but today, has gone free. Perfect for recording and taking notes, it’s a must-have for any student.

Templates for Pages Pro ($4.99 – FREE / iPhone and iPad)
Usually costing $4.99, this gem for iPhone and iPad remains free of charge. Ideal for making templates for Apple’s famed word-processing app, it has been buoyed by an iOS 7 redesign, so be sure to check it out below.

Fingle ($1.99 – FREE / iPad)
This enjoyable game is like the famed Twister but for fingers. Usually $1.99, it’s currently zero dollars, so get yourself that five-finger discount by downloading below.

Analog film ($2.99 – FREE / iPhone and iPad)
This app attempts, like so many, to bring an air of authenticity to your videos, particularly if you’re seeking the warmness of the analog film recorder. It does its job well, and for a limited time, does so for free.

Scanbot ($0.99 – FREE / iPhone)
Arguably the best document scanning app for iPhone, and free for just 24-hours, it’s best to grab it right away before the developers change their minds!

PDF Cabinet ($2.99 – FREE / iPad)
Having begun with a PDF-related app, we’re going to end our round-up in similar fashion. PDF Cabinet’s normal price of $2.99 has dropped to the much more agreeable free, and with an abundance of useful annotation features, is well worth a look.
