The App Store contains over 600,000 apps in total, and while there are plenty to choose from in a variety of categories, the improvement of the iPhone’s camera has seen a meteoric rise in the number of camera and image manipulation-based apps.
Once a territory only trodden by those with very expensive standalone cameras and incredible Photoshop skills, creating and editing professional-looking images complete with effects is now something everybody can play their hand at. Of course, while a monochrome effect accompanied by a bit of focus hardly renders you Ansell Adams, some of the better apps can certainly help you churn out some decent images.
Indeed, if you take a look through Instagram – the most popular image-sharing social network – you will notice that in fact, we cannot resist using the effects to make our snaps appear a touch edgier, and LINE Camera – an Android app just ported through to the App Store, allows you to choose from a vast inventory of effects in order to really put your personal stamp on a photo.
LINE itself is a free calling and messaging service, allowing two devices running the LINE application to chat and SMS each other free of charge. This camera app integrates nicely with the service, and as you can see from the screenshot below, if you’re a dab-hand with Instagram, you’ll have no problems with LINE Camera:
You can add a bunch of effects, and as you can see, some of the stamps are in keeping with LINE’s teeny-bopper image. It needn’t simply be reserved for adolescents though, and there’s something in there for everyone. You can select from frames, stamps, brushes, and of course, filters, and decorate your masterpiece until your heart’s content.
