Apple’s Vision Pro Plan: Cheaper Version In 2025, Pro 2 In 2026, Lightweight AR Glasses Coming As Well

The Apple Vision Pro has been on sale in the United States since February and will be released in additional countries very soon indeed. But what comes next?

That’s something that has now been detailed by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest weekly Power On newsletter.

According to Gurman Apple’s attention is currently on a new Apple Vision Pro that is designed to be cheaper and more accessible than the current $3,499 model. If Gurman is correct Apple will be able to launch a new, cheaper Apple Vision Pro as soon as next year. From there, Apple is then expected to launch an updated flagship model the following year – we’ll have to wait for 2026 for that.

As for how Apple will reduce the price of the Apple Vision Pro, that’s as-yet unknown. But there are some aspects that Apple could be looking at.

Apple could strip out the EyeSight display — the feature that shows a user’s eyes on the outside — and reduce the specifications of the internal virtual reality screens. It also could use a less powerful chip and lower the quality of the augmented reality passthrough visuals, which show you the real-world views outside the device.

The Apple Vision Pro is just the start, however. Apple is thought to still have plans for AR-only glasses that would be similar to normal spectacles in terms of size and weight.

The launch for that product isn’t expected to launch until 2027 at the earliest, however, with development thought to be in the very early stages.
